SHIMANTOGAWA OFFLINE MEETING ¶
Oshima Imabari
The Seto-uchi Shimanami-Kaido (highway above sea), was opened to traffic on 1 May 1999.
The bridge connects Imabari City in Ehime and Onomichi City in Hiroshima,
as well as six islands within the Geiyo Islands situated near the center of the Seto Inland Sea.
The Kurushima-kaikyo-ohashi Bridge (a triple suspension-type grand bridge) connects Oshima island ,
the island provides brand-new scenery in harmony with insular nature.
Mt.Kiro-san has a fine view of the bridges and the Inland Sea.
Thanks to the mild climate, there is the Yoshiumi Rose Garden
where you can see various kinds of roses collected from all parts of the world.
Oshima Island produces good quality of Iyo-oshimaishi(Granite).
The photoes are a objet and a rest room made of the stone.
Oshima was home to the Murakami Pirates in the past.
This house¡¡is the museum for the piretes.
