Botchan Train

This is a streetcar that runs within Matsuyama City.
Described as a train looking like a matchbox in the novel Botchan,
the streetcar was restored in 2001,
and it now runs on the streets of the city.
Botchan train and Sacramento Regional Transit(USA) are sister trains!

解説
坊ちゃん列車
　
坊ちゃん列車は、非電化・軽便鉄道時代の伊予鉄道（松山）に
在籍した路面蒸気機関車 (SL) です。
夏目漱石の小説『坊つちやん』の中で、
この電車を「マッチ箱のような汽車」と形容した。
松山の中学校に赴任する主人公の坊っちゃんが
これに乗ったことから、坊っちゃん列車と呼ばれるようになった。
2001年より、
伊予鉄道は坊ちゃん列車を復元運行
（ただし環境への配慮から動力はディーゼル機関）し、
現在はこちらの方を指すことが一般的である。
2007年に
サクラメンのラジノー・トランジットと姉妹列車になった。
