Mt. Ishizuchi

Mt. Ishizuchi is 1,982 metres (6,503 ft) high mountain
on the border of Saijo and Kumakogen in Shikoku.
This mountain is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan.
It is the tallest mountain in Western Japan.
Mt. Ishizuchi is an important object of worship in this region
and one of the major centers of Shugendo,
a sect of mixture of Shintoism and Buddhism.
On the top of the mountain
there is a small shrine called the Ishizuchi Shrine.
The area around Mt. Ishizuchi
is a major part of Ishizuchi Quasi-National Park.

Parantica sita アサギマダラ 大絹斑蝶 (青斑蝶)
The Parantica sita, or chestnut tiger,
is a butterfly found in Asia that belongs to the Crows and Tigers,
that is, the Danaid group of the Brush-footed butterflies family.
The Parantica sita flourishes in East Asia.
From an egg to a caterpillar and finally emerging as an adult butterfly,
it's wired for one last mission'to reproduce
and ensure another generation of its kind.
One such creature may have carried its mission to the extreme,
traveling nearly 1200km from the island of Taiwan to Japan,
and sending shockwaves throughout Asia's scientific community

アサギマダラの成虫は1年のうちに、
日本本土と南西諸島・台湾の間を往復していることが知られている。
ただし北上する個体と南下する個体は子孫の関係で、
同じ個体が移動する渡り鳥の移動とは異なる。
研究者達によって、アサギマダラは夏に日本本土で発生し、
秋になると南西諸島や台湾まで南下、
繁殖した子孫が春に北上し、
日本本土に再び現れるという行動が明らかになった。
中には直線距離で1,500 km以上移動した個体や、
1日あたり200 km以上の速さで移動した個体もある。
2011年10月10日に和歌山県から放たれたマーキングしたアサギマダラが、
83日後の12月31日に約2,500 km離れた香港で捕獲された。
途中高知県でも捕獲されていて、世界第二位の長距離の移動が確認された。

棲習於中,低海拔山區。每年9月左右產卵,
次年4月左右羽化成蟲。幼蟲食草為蘿摩科植物。
在東南亞,中國南部,台灣北部,琉球群島,日本之間會進行長途遷徙。
2011年12月31日,
大埔環保會在香港深水灣發現由日本和歌山縣遷移到來的大絹斑蝶,
該蝴蝶共用了83日飛越2500公里的東海,
是繼帝王斑蝶的紀錄後,全球第二最遠的蝴蝶飛行路線。

解説
石鎚山
　
石鎚山は、標高1,982mの山で西日本最高峰である。
愛媛県西条市側（1ルート）と久万高原町（２ルート）に登山口がある。
山頂部は、正確にいえば、最高峰に位置する天狗岳（1,982m）と
石鎚神社山頂社のある弥山（みせん、1,974m）が
ちょうど鬼の角のように少し高くなっている。
その他、南尖峰（なんせんぽう、1,982m）も加えて一連の総体山を石鎚山と読んでいる。
石鎚山は奈良時代から修行道場として知れ渡り、
弘法大師（空海）も修行したとされている。
